The DNR presents an exciting way to learn about energy and waste topics - a mobile education trailer!
The “How You Live Has An Impact” mobile education exhibit is an all-inclusive experience that includes informative displays, interactive kiosks, educational videos and more. The exhibit displays rooms in an average home, the resources we use in those rooms and easy steps we can take to reduce our expenses while saving natural resources.
Back to topWhat's Inside?
The exhibit consists of five (5) separate stations, equipped with touch screen computer games, flat screen TVs and interactive displays. The exhibit showcases topics such as:
- sustainability
- recycling
- household hazardous materials, and
- water and energy conservation
The exhibit presents information of interest to adults, yet are understandable by youth of approximately 4th grade. Younger children should understand many of the concepts being presented, especially with an adult present to answer questions. The mobile education exhibit can easily accommodate 20 to 25 persons at a time.
We bring the exhibit to you! Contract Transport, Inc in Des Moines transports the trailer before and after events. It is also handicapped accessible, heated and air conditioned so it can be used year-round. Please note, the Department does not provide staff for mobile education events.
