Whether you are looking for a fall or winter weekend get-away or a week-long summer family reunion, state park cabins can fill your needs. 

There are more than 90 cabins available to rent in 20 state parks across Iowa. Ranging from yurts, overlooking Clear Lake, at McIntosh Woods State Park, to two-story modern family cabins at the iconic Backbone State Park, overnight lodging options are as varied as the needs of our visitors.

All cabins require a minimum 2-night stay. Some cabins require a week-long stay during the peak season.  A rental week begins and ends on Friday. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m. 

Family Cabins

  • Renters must provide their own bedding, pillows, towels, toiletry items, dishes and some cleaning items such as paper towels, dish soap, etc.
  • Equipped with electricity, water, refrigerator, stove or cook-top range and microwaves. A fire ring or grill and picnic table are also provided outside each cabin.
  • Range from basic and studio to modern and deluxe.
