Electronic Records
Document Search Web Application which is a web interface connecting to OpenText. The search interface allows easy searches by a variety of meta data such as program, city, county, or facility name. It's possible to search an individual program or all programs (with additional programs as they are added).

Information & Public Record Requests
Any person may submit their request to inspect public records to the Office of the Chief Information Officer by submitting their request via our our Iowa Information and Public Records Request Portal:
Requests may also be submitted in person at one of our record centers, e-mailing DNR.Records.Request@dnr.iowa.gov or by mail.
Important Note
Please contact the main DNR phone center at 515-725-8200 for the following requests:
- Safety education duplicate certificate requests
(includes: hunter, bow, fur harvester, boat, snowmobile, and ATV) - Boat, ATV, and Snowmobile registration requests
Payment for Requests
- Payment for all copies must be made prior to receiving the copies. Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover are accepted.
- Estimates required ahead of time are simply estimates made using Schedule of Fees. Exact costs for a specific request are provided after the request is completed.
Iowa's Open Records Law
According to Chapter 22 of the Iowa Code, as well as Chapter 2 of the Iowa Administrative Code 561, it states that all government records are open to the public, except for a few specific exceptions.
