Amenities at Pool 11, Mississippi River include:
    "First ice" ice fishing has begun on the Upper Mississippi River Pool 9-11. Freezing temps have ice building in backwater lakes. There is around 5 inches of ice on many protected backwaters but recent warm spells may have weakened ice near some shoreline or areas with slight current so caution should be used. Anglers should use a spud bar to test the ice prior to venturing out new areas. With warmer temperatures and possible rain this weekend and no snow cover ice will be slippery and anglers sh
    Walleye - Good: Walleye fishing in the tailwaters has been good recently but access may be limited by ice.
    Water level the tailwaters in Guttenberg is 6 ft. and expected to be stable. Ice is around 5 inches in protected backwaters. Ice is forming at the boat ramps in Guttenberg and ice flows are collecting below the dam so and tailwater fishing access may be limited. Avoid ice in areas with any current yet. Avoid the mouth of the creek at Mud Lake.
    Yellow Perch - Good: Some good reports of perch catches at Mud and Sunfish Lakes
    Black Crappie - Good: Nice sized crappie being caught. Try using small minnows for larger fish.
    Bluegill - Good: Good sized bluegills being caught in the early bite
    Largemouth Bass - Fair: Anglers catching some nice bass fishing waxworms for panfish.
    Sauger - Good: Walleye fishing in the tailwaters has been good recently but access may be limited by ice
