The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is looking for Engineers in Training to join its Engineering Design team as Facilities Engineer Associates. These positions will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to assist with maintaining and improving public facilities across the state, ensuring that the health, safety and welfare of the general public and state employees are protected and the facilities are constructed to all code requirements. Responsibilities include assisting with developing designs and drawings using CADD. Utilizing engineering software to calculate or modify construction quantities, or other project information. Utilize or create computer-generated maps, plans, or displays to illustrate project details. Developing tools or workflows to more efficiently design construction projects. Assisting with the preparation of Contract Documents including drawings, specifications, construction estimates, and bid documents, and assisting with the determination of applicable construction alternatives if contracts require modifications.
