Section 313 Toxic Chemical Release Inventory Reporting (TRI)

Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act (EPCRA)Air emmission at a brick factory.

Section 313 - Toxic Chemical Release Inventory

EPCRA section 313 requires facilities meeting regulatory requirements to complete a Toxic Chemical Release Inventory (TRI) Form annually for specified chemicals. The form must be submitted annually to EPA and the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) by July 1. The form covers releases to the environment and othermanagement of waste toxic chemicals that occurred during the preceding calendar year.

Facilities who file TRI Form A and Form R's using EPA's TRI-ME web do not need to send hard copies to the State of Iowa. This electronic reporting process has added greater flexibility, efficiency, and accuracy. If facilities report to the EPA using the hardcopy form. a copy also needs to be sent to the State of Iowa.

EPA's TRI website includes links to information, resources and TRI-ME Web.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Adam Broughton @ 515-204-3352 or e-mail him at iowa.epcra@dnr.iowa.gov.
