Athletes from 113 teams across Iowa converged on the Iowa State Trapshooting Home Grounds north of Cedar Falls for the 2021 Scholastic Clay Target Program State Trap Shooting Championship held June 8-13. More than 2,600 athletes from 4th grade through high school competed in three different competitions; singles trap, doubles trap, and handicap trap.

TAMA - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will relax the fishing regulations at Otter Creek Lake, near Tama, starting June 15 to allow anglers to more freely harvest fish before the lake is dewatered this fall for a planned lake restoration project. The fish population will be renovated to remove common carp and yellow bass from the lake.

More than 2,700 Iowa shooting sports athletes will participate in the 2021 Iowa Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Trap Championships in American Singles, Doubles, and Handicap Trap. More than 700,000 targets will be shot by the athletes, ranging in age from grade school through high school.

Boats could run aground as river levels drop due to a partial closure of the boat channel at the mouth of the creek and the channel going under the bridge.

DES MOINES—The Iowa DNR and Takemefishing.org hosted a restoration event on Tuesday, May 18 for recreational fishing, paddling and conservation at Gray's Lake in Des Moines. Pro skaters TJ Rogers (CAN) and Alana Smith (TX, USA) worked alongside DNR staff, Des Moines Parks and Recreation staff and community volunteers to remove litter and invasive species, sink infrastructure for fish habitat and to practice their angling skills. They even took some time off to kayak.

Facilities subject to Title V of the federal Clean Air Act must submit 2020 emissions fees by July 1, 2021. The Title V air emissions fee for calendar year 2020 is $70.00 per ton.
