Badgers are tough.  We’ve all probably heard of the African Honey Badger and how it doesn’t give a hoot.  Well our American Badger is just as tough and probably doesn’t care much either!  Badgers are found statewide in Iowa, mostly using open country.

If you’ve ever been out hiking and noticed a tiny volcano made of mud, you’ve seen the home of a mudbug!  Actually, mudbug is just another name for crayfish...just like crawdad or crawfish!  We have 8 species of crayfish in Iowa, but in this article we’re going to talk about 3 species that commonly dig burrows.

MONDAMIN - Round Lake has to be the easiest wildlife area to get to in the state. Sitting one mile east off of I-29 at the Hwy. 127 Mondamin exit, is the 430-acre mix of wetlands, timber and prairie in western Harrison County.

Athletes from 117 teams across Iowa converged on the Iowa State Trapshooting Homegrounds, north of Cedar Falls, June 7-12 for the 2022 Scholastic Clay Target Program State Trap Shooting Championship. Nearly 3,000 athletes from 4th grade through high school competed in three different competitions; singles trap, doubles trap, and handicap trap.
