DANVILLE - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will relax fishing regulations at Geode State Park in Henry County starting June 6, to allow anglers to more freely harvest game fish before the lake is renovated this summer.

DES MOINES – Permanent ice shelters must be removed from all state-owned lands and waters by February 20. Ice shelter owners are encouraged not to wait until the last minute to get their shelter off the ice. If a shelter falls through the ice, the owner is responsible for getting it out of the lake.

The first day of November looked to be a promising day. I had the morning off to go trout fishing and the weather was cooperating. Like most people, I don’t go fishing nearly often enough so I wanted to share my outing with someone. My husband and kids would all be at work. The grandkids were in school or at the sitter’s. Anglers who purchased the trout permit for the 2016 season may receive a postcard soon encouraging them to participate in the 2016 Trout Angler Survey. As of October 1, 2016, nearly 45,000 resident and non-resident anglers purchased the trout permit, and 10,000 of these purchasers were selected to participate in the trout survey.
