Anamosa’s David Machart scored 299 out of 300 to win the high school division and first place overall in the bullseye competition at the National Archery in the Schools Program National Tournament last weekend in Louisville, Ky.
Machart was joined by Anamosa teammate Trevor Wehling in Second place in the high school division and overall with a 297 in the bullseye competition, followed by Logan Kelly from Mount Vernon Middle School with a 296, which won the middle school division and Fourth overall, and Kyra Ellis from Central City High School who scored a 294 for Eighth place High School Division and Ninth Place overall.
Individuals who place 30th and higher and teams that either win their division or exceed a minimum score qualify for the World Championship Tournament in Myrtle Beach S.C. on June 24- 26.
Machart and Kelly placed second and fifth overall respectively in the 3D competition as well.
