DES MOINES – DNR staff work with individuals, businesses and communities to help them protect our natural resources by complying with state and federal laws. This approach is very effective. In the few cases where compliance cannot be achieved, the DNR issues enforcement actions. The following list summarizes recent enforcement actions. Consent Orders A consent order is issued as an alternative to issuing an administrative order. A consent order indicates that the DNR has voluntarily entered into a legally enforceable agreement with the other party.
Cherokee County
Conrad Lundsgaard, Inc
Cease all illegal open burning and illegal solid waste disposal and pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $1,000.
Emmet County
New Fashion Pork, LLP
Operate in compliance with regulations; Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedure for land application; and pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $4,800.
Humbolt County
Brent Murphy
Operate in compliance with regulations; Submit Manure Management Plan (MMP); and pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $1,000.
Johnson County
Rick Freese and Rick Freese Well Drilling, Inc.
Comply with remediation plan; comply with laws, rules, and permits; and pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $5,000.

Amendment to 2018-AQ-22. Amends the compliance schedule for meeting permit limit.
