DES MOINES – DNR staff work with individuals, businesses and communities to help them protect our natural resources by complying with state and federal laws. This approach is very effective. In the few cases where compliance cannot be achieved, the DNR issues enforcement actions. The following list summarizes recent enforcement actions. Consent Orders
A consent order is issued as an alternative to issuing an administrative order. A consent order indicates that the DNR has voluntarily entered into a legally enforceable agreement with the other party.
Kossuth County
North Iowa Custom Finishing, Inc.
Pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $4,500.
Washington County
Norm Bruty
Dispose of all solid waste at property, cease all improper open burning and solid waste disposal, and pay an administrative penalty of $1,500.
Woodbury County
Joe Fink dba Fink Electric, Inc.
Pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $4,725.
Worth County
Brian Ullestad
Cease all improper solid waste disposal and open burning; remove all solid waste at the property and submit disposal receipts; and pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $1,000.
Administrative Orders
Responsible parties have 30 days to appeal the order or 60 days to pay the penalty.
