Visitors to www.iowadnr.gov will notice a new “look and feel” to the DNR website, offering friendlier navigation and more prominent access to the information visitors want most. The DNR introduced the updated site in late October and has received positive feedback from people visiting the website.
“Our goal is to improve customer service as people turn to the DNR website to help them access outdoor recreation amenities in Iowa,” said Chuck Gipp, DNR Director. “It’s also important to help Iowa landowners and companies easily get to environmental services, such as permitting, quickly and conveniently.”
New website features include a revised navigation system with customer-friendly menus; new features for displaying timely information such as hunting seasons during the fall; more prominent social media and news feeds; and responsive use on mobile devices, computers and tablets.
With an average of more than 260,000 unique visitors each month, the DNR website is one of the most popular in Iowa state government. In October 2015, 43 percent of visitors to the DNR site used mobile devices, 48 percent a desktop computer, and 8 percent a tablet.
