Summer construction projects are about to begin at Maquoketa Caves State Park, forcing the closure of the main road through the park beginning on April 23, 2018.
Signs will be posted to detour traffic around the park and to the local restaurant. Construction may continue into August 2018.
The roadway reconstruction is part of a larger project that includes a renovation and upgrade of the campground electrical service, as well as maintenance of auxiliary park roads.
