State Preserves Advisory Board meets April 20

The State Preserves Advisory Board of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will meet at 10 a.m., April 20, in the fourth floor west conference room in the Wallace State Office Building, 502 East Ninth Street, in Des Moines.

The meeting is open to the public. Any person attending the public meeting and has special requirements such as those related to mobility or hearing impairments should contact the DNR or ADA Coordinator at 515-725-8200, Relay Iowa TTY Service 800-735-7942, orWebmaster@dnr.iowa.gov, and advise of specific needs.

Members of the State Preserves Advisory Board are Wayne Phipps, Kirk Larsen, Barbara Schroeder and Leesa McNeil. The deputy director of the DNR is Bruce Trautman.

  • Approve minutes of December 2016 Meeting
  • Starr’s Cave trial construction - presentation by Chris Lee, director, Des Moines County Conservation Board
  • Blood Run State Park Cultural Landscape Master Plan update
  • Research summary – presentation of Board-funded research and management projects
  • Strasser Woods forest plot re-measurement – presentation of changes to permanent forest inventory plots; a field trip is scheduled after the business meeting.
  • Status of the Preserves Board discussion
  • Meeting schedule for 2017
