DES MOINES — Iowans seeking to raise awareness about household hazardous materials can receive up to $5,000 to help educate others on these items’ proper disposal and use.
Applications are due by March 22. Individuals, businesses, public or private organizations, and local governments may apply.
“Products that include household hazardous materials make our chores and projects easier, but they also require special handling,” said Kathleen Hennings with the DNR’s Household Hazardous Materials program. “We hope that Iowa residents and businesses will use this grant to educate their local schools, businesses and families about the proper purchasing, use, storage, and disposal of common household hazardous materials.”
