The river will reach "moderate" flood stage in most locations and most boat ramps and courtesy docks will be experiencing flooding issues. Only a few of the major boat ramps will be in operation over the next week or so. If you have angling questions, please call Bellevue Fisheries Management at 563-880-8781.
Water level at Fulton is rising and presently near 14.5 feet, 16.3 feet at Camanche and 10 feet at LeClaire. Water temperature is 78 degrees and stained. Please note that most boat ramps into Pool 14 will be flooded and the campground at Rock Creek will also be affected.
Channel Catfish - Good: Channel catfish like flood waters and will move along the banks to feed. Try using stink baits. Channel cats are in spawning mode soon and rock lines are a good place to start.
Freshwater Drum - Good: Worm rig with egg sinker fished along shore in moderate current will catch this consistent biter.
Largemouth Bass - Good: Try weed lines away from the main channel. Use gaudy spinner baits along the weed edges.
Smallmouth Bass - Fair: Maybe try up the tributary streams if they are running clearer. Need to find rock to hold smallies.

    The fishery of Pool 14 remains strong. Pool 14 is one of the few pools where walleye are stocked regularly to offset any loses due to the Quad Cities Nuclear Power plant. Stockings are somewhat successful and contribute 20 percent of the population on a given year. Largemouth and smallmouth bass have also been excellent fisheries in the past few years. Planning is ongoing to restore the fishery in Beaver Island complex across from Clinton, Iowa. The dredging of the complex will start in 2017.(2016)
