Lake Pahoja currently offers good fishing opportunities for both largemouth bass and bluegill. Currently there are numerous 10-15 inch bass that should continue to grow and become preferred sized fish in the coming years. There is also a large year class of 7 inch bluegill that should reach a preferred size in the next year or two allowing anglers to take home some good sized fish. Walleye numbers are not highly abundant, but most that have been seen are over 20 inches. In conclusion, Lake Pahoja should offer better fishing opportunities in the future as larger year classes of smaller sized fish continue to grow. (2022)

Iowa-Caught Fish Are Safe to Eat, In Almost All Cases

Some limitations may apply for young children and pregnant women. Here’s a Fish Consumption Fact Sheet from the Iowa DNR and the Iowa Dept. of Public Health for more information.
