The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is planning a repeat of a successful restoration effort on Diamond Lake in Dickinson County. The DNR will lower the water level in the lake through this fall and winter to eliminate problem fish.

TRIPOLI, Iowa - Heavy rainfall last weekend in the Wapsipinicon and Plum Creek watersheds in Chickasaw and Bremer counties has caused a 60 foot by 40 foot section of the dike on Martens Lake on the Sweet Marsh Wildlife Management Area to fail. The breach likely occurred during the night of July 23.

On July 18, 2017, the Environmental Protection Commission (Commission) approved an additional opportunity for public comment on a proposed air quality rulemaking. The Iowa DNR Air Quality Bureau (DNR) received one comment on the original Notice of Intended Action, and is accepting additional comments through August 17, 2017.
