Iowa pheasant population survey begins Aug. 1

Iowa pheasant hunters had an excellent season last year, harvesting the most roosters since 2008, and many are looking forward to what 2022 has in store. That fall forecast will be based on the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) annual roadside pheasant counts, that begins Aug. 1.

WARREN COUNTY, Iowa - Authorities with the Warren Water District issued a boil advisory for much of Warren County including the cities of Milo, Martinsdale, New Virginia, Truro and Saint Mary's after the rural water district experienced a ruptured water line late Sunday that affected water levels and pressure in several water towers.

Athletes from 117 teams across Iowa converged on the Iowa State Trapshooting Homegrounds, north of Cedar Falls, June 7-12 for the 2022 Scholastic Clay Target Program State Trap Shooting Championship. Nearly 3,000 athletes from 4th grade through high school competed in three different competitions; singles trap, doubles trap, and handicap trap.
