Marengo, Ohio - Iowa action shooters won six categories at the National Championship of the Scholastic Action Shooting Program, in Marengo, Ohio, led by Dysart’s Nate Gibson who captured top honors in Rimfire Pistol, Pistol Caliber Carbine and Iron Rifle.

Cedar Falls – Iowa’s Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) state trapshooting championship event begins June 6 at the Iowa State Trapshooting Association home grounds just north of Cedar Falls.Middle school and elementary aged athletes will begin the competition on Wednesday with high school athletes competing Thursday through Sunday. The Oyens Shooting Range will be closed June 16 and 17 for the 4th annual Tri-State Public Range Association work day. This year, the Tri-State Public Range Association is raising money to install a new target stand system at the range.

IOWA CITY - The Tim Dorr rifle and handgun range at the Hawkeye Wildlife Management Area is closed after a nearly six inch rainfall Tuesday night damaged the recently completed renovation on the popular shooting range.

POLK CITY – The Charles “Butch” Olofson shooting range at Big Creek State Park in Polk County has been close since December 20 to allow contractors to remove the old structures and install a new registration and classroom facility, add new baffles, and conduct lead reclamation and berm maintenance.
