Lansing, Iowa – Lansing Village Creek boat channel dredging scheduled to begin Sept. 15 has been delayed to Oct. 1, and is expected to continue through Nov. 1. The boat ramp will remain open, but space will be limited.

TAMA/TOLEDO, Iowa - Hunter access to Otter Creek Marsh will be restricted to only segments - segments four and six on the southeast side of the wildlife area - through 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, to comply with the 48 hour no entry restriction required after the other huntable sections of the marsh were chemically treated. Segments four and six are currently holding the most water on the complex.

AMES, Iowa – DNR staff investigated a fish kill along Ioway Creek in Ames, Thursday, July 8 after a passerby noticed dead fish mid-morning and called the DNR.

ANITA - Early Sunday morning the city of Atlantic helped Anita Municipal Utilities jet out a plugged wastewater pipe, and notified DNR of a wastewater discharge into a nearby creek.

TAMA - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will relax the fishing regulations at Otter Creek Lake, near Tama, starting June 15 to allow anglers to more freely harvest fish before the lake is dewatered this fall for a planned lake restoration project. The fish population will be renovated to remove common carp and yellow bass from the lake.

LANSING – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) urges boaters to use caution at the Lansing Village Creek boat access with lower water predicted through next week. Boats could run aground as river levels drop due to a partial closure of the boat channel at the mouth of the creek and the channel going under the bridge.

LINN COUNTY, Iowa -- Campgrounds, cabins and shelters are now open at Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area following the derecho in early August. The trails and the beach remain closed as well as the lodge as DNR staff continue to work diligently to clean up damage left behind by August’s derecho.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will install a physical fish barrier on the Brushy Creek Lake spillway this summer to reduce walleye and muskellunge loss during flood events. The lake will be lowered approximately 4 feet for the next two months to allow for construction. The West ramp will still be usable, even after the lake level has been lowered.
