DAYTON – The city of Dayton in Webster County has lifted its boil advisory after the results of two sets of bacterial samples indicate that the water is safe for consumption.
The city issued the boil advisory on Tuesday following a small water main break. At that time, water pressure may have dropped, creating the potential for bacteria to enter the water system.
As a precaution, the city asked residents to boil water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or preparing food.
The two sets of water samples, taken 24 hours apart, were tested to determine whether the water is safe.
