RIVERTON – Flood control and levee accreditation will be discussed at a meeting of the State Interagency Missouri River Authority (SIMRA) on Oct. 29 in Riverton.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Riverton Community Building, 803 Summer Ave. Other items on the agenda include presentations from Mink (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas) Corridor, Inc. and the M29 Marine Corridor, an update on Missouri River basin conditions, an update and plans for regulating the reservoir system in 2016, and a discussion on future flood concerns.
An on-site lunch will be available to interested meeting attendees. It is a hot, two-meat, buffet style lunch. The cost is $12 each and a receipt will be provided if needed. Please RSVP if you plan to participate in this luncheon option by emailing Sharon.Tahtinen@dnr.iowa.gov.
Following lunch, there will be a tour of levee setbacks and the Copeland Bend Project.
