Rattlesnakes can be scary. They have fangs and venom and can potentially kill or maim you if startled or threatened. Rattlesnakes are very uncommon in Iowa with the Timber Rattlesnake being the most widespread species.

Randolph Access closed for road improvements through late October

Marengo - The Randolph Access, west of Marengo off Hwy. 212, will be closed Sept. 26 – Oct. 21. The access will be under construction to improve road condition and drainage.

CASS COUNTY, IOWA-- On Thursday, Sept. 8, the Iowa DNR was notified that a crane overturned into the West Nodaway River approximately 2-3 miles northeast of Massena in Cass County. It was initially reported that approximately 20 gallons of diesel and engine fuel from the crane were spilled.
