NEWELL—The city of Newell in Buena Vista County lifted a “do not use” water advisory Wednesday night after laboratory test results showed the city’s drinking water is clear of mercury contamination.

Well Construction and Well Service Discharges General Permit 6 (GP6) will expire on February 28, 2020. Iowa DNR proposes to initiate rulemaking to renew the NPDES permit for a third 5 year term. The proposed GP6 is nearly identical to the current general permit except for some clarifications.
