BUCHANAN COUNTY — For Lime Creek, it’s a tale of two lists; it’s a story that moves from the state’s impaired waters list to the distinction of landing on the Outstanding Iowa Waters list. The effort was also just recognized as a water quality success story by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Online Permit Application System Gets New Name

Consultant Begins Work on Online Air Permit Application System

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has entered into a contract with enfoTech & Consulting, Inc. to develop a new electronic air permitting application system. The DNR expects the system to be online by Dec. 1, 2019 for Title V and construction permit applicants.

Did you know that Iowa has nine species of bats?

Two of the most common bats in Iowa are the little brown bat (Myotis lucifigus) and the big brown bat (Eptesicus fuscus). Like all of the bats in Iowa, they are insectivores and are critical for keeping Iowa’s insect populations in check.

DNR investigating manure spill in Clinton County

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has received an appropriation of $954,000 from the Technology Reinvestment Fund (SF 2414, 87th Iowa General Assembly) to implement an electronic air permit application system, e-Application. On June 19, DNR received approval from the Environmental Protection Commission to move forward with the project and enter into a contract with enfoTech & Consulting, Inc., of North Brunswick, New Jersey.
